Jane McClenaghan’s passion for good food started in childhood, helping to bake cakes and lick the bowl in her mum’s kitchen.
She went on to study Food Science at the University of Reading, which didn’t quite satisfy her zest for knowledge about the therapeutic influence of food on our body, mind and wellbeing. So, after studying a three year Nutritional Therapy diploma at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition www.ion.ac.uk, Jane spent a few years working alongside some of the UK’s foremost nutrition experts – Patrick Holford, Marilyn Glenville and Ian Marber (Food Doctor) to name a few.
Jane returned to Northern Ireland in 2001 to set up Vital Nutrition and since then has helped thousands of people make easy, manageable changes to their diets with a view to achieving a better state of health and wellbeing. She has worked along side the team at Heavenly to ensure our recipes meet the needs of parents by being firstly delicious and nutritious, and then perfect for little taste buds.
Jane regularly appears on local TV and radio, so listen out for her monthly slot on Carolyn Stewart’s U105 lunchtime show on www.u105.com.
